Questions

How does it handle guests who said maybe?

Each group has a turnout percentage you can change: 95% of confirmed guests and 50% of maybes to start. Expected people = confirmed x its percentage + maybes x its percentage, and the formula is shown on screen.

Where do the portion sizes come from?

They are common rules of thumb, such as 4 appetizer pieces per adult with a meal or 6 oz of main per adult. They are starting points: open Portion rules and change any of them to suit your guests.

Does it tell me how long food can sit out or how to store leftovers?

No. This calculator only works out quantities. For how long food can sit out, keeping hot food hot and cold food cold, and storing leftovers, follow official food-safety guidance such as FoodSafety.gov in the US, or your national food safety agency. Dietary tags are your own labels; always check ingredients for allergies.

Can I add as many dishes as I like?

Yes. There is no limit on dishes. Each one has a category and a unit (pieces, servings, oz/lb or items), and quantities are split evenly across the dishes in a category.

Does it work on my phone and offline?

Yes. It is one HTML file designed for a phone screen first. Everything saves on your device, and Export and Import let you back up or move it to another device.

Does it work on my phone?
